our STORY

Nice to Meet You!

Our story starts like so many do, with a beer and a best friend. Partner team Kira & Trip Campbell created Little Growlers to bring together their mutual commitments to pets, local craft beer, and a mission of sustainability. Why throw away so many pounds of spent beer grains when they can be upcycled into tasty, wholesome treats for our furry friends? Using “upcycled” treats as a fun way to bring more collaboration between dog and beer communities is something that’s happening in other parts of the country, but Trip & Kira see it as a currently underserved opportunity in the Twin Cities.

Our goal is to partner with local craft breweries in a spirit of mutually beneficial cooperation to offer these treats to the community.  We love meeting all our customers (both human and canine) in person, and we know many of you do too.

Things we care about:

Sustainability -- not only is our whole product line based on the concept of upcycling a waste product into a new, desirable product, we are also committed to not producing any additional waste from our products or packaging. Our packaging is biodegradable, and our baking process and supplies creates no trash.
Simplicity -- our treats contain just 4 simple ingredients: spent beer grains, flour, peanut butter, and eggs.
Eat/Drink/Buy Local -- we are fully committed to sustaining our local community. Keep it local with us. We love interacting with our breweries and customers, both human and growler alike!
Giving Back -- for all live “Pup-Up” vendor events or fundraisers we attend, a portion of our profits will be given back to local dog rescue organizations. Our current favorite is Safe Hands Rescue.
